This project was based at The University of Surrey in Guildford. Battersea Court is one of the University’s student accommodation locations spread over 7 blocks. Our project covered 3 blocks known as Tate, Speirs and Rich.

The project included the complete refurbishment of 183no student bedrooms and en suite bathrooms together with the replacement of 17no communal kitchens and general refurbishment to all communal corridors and staircase cores.

The project was challenging due to the considerable amount of trade activity in confined areas, over a short project timescale, but was successfully handed over on time.

The works consisted of:

• Painting and decorating
• Replacement carpets
• Replacement vinyl to bathrooms and kitchens
• Replacement of entrance screens and doors
• Communal kitchen upgrades throughout
• New lighting throughout
• Plumbing modifications and replacement of sanitaryware
• New fire alarm systems
• Full heating distribution replacement, including plant and controls
• New access control systems
• Manifestation to existing windows
